The Pearly King of Mile End

I discovered John Scott in Spitalfields market on Monday. He’s the Pearly King of Mile End and raises money for charity through appearances and various fund raising events. John lovingly hand sewed hundreds of pearly buttons to his suit, hat and waistcoat to make his incredible outfit. What a legend!

Mr Chocolatier

Michael Lowe is the head chocolatier at Paul A Young in Soho. Best. Job. Ever. Not only does he have the job of dreams, he also has a rather impressive beard. If I could grow a beard, I’d want one like this.

Michael wears a vintage jacket from Portobello Road, Loreak Mendien shirt from Australia, vintage shirt (worn over other shirt), vintage glasses, Grenson shoes, and the hat was a gift.

The Streets of Stockholm

Frida wears hat by Duckies, earring by Gina Tricot, gilet by Bikbok, vintage cardigan, jeans and scarf by H&M and Dr. Martins boots.

Tommy’s studs and layers

Amazing colours! Susanne wears coat and and jumper from Istanbul and a vintage hat, scarf and skirt.

Yaya-Beaugar and Jeremy

Following on from my last post, I discovered yet another stylish pair in Camden the following day. Yaya-Beaugar and Jeremy ooze attitude, flamboyance and flair in their show stopping attire. I couldn’t believe my luck when I discovered them walking down Camden Road. Their highly original outfits decorated the street and pulled in many admiring glances and comments from passers by. I love how they’ve juxtaposed embroidery, florals, metallics and ruffles with leather, studs and trainers.  These guys are crazy about fashion and know how to have fun with it. Bravo boys!

Yaya-Beaugar wears jacket and trousers by Kokontozai, jacket by Kassamoto, trainers by Y3 and a cap by New Era.

Jeremy wears jacket by H&M, shirt by Versace, Trousers by Y3, Belt by Galliano and shoes by Swear.

Stockholm

Nicole Walker

I’ve just returned from a trip to Stockholm and boy, do the Scandinavians know how to dress! Swedish style is effortlessly cool, contemporary and understated. Producing brands such as Acne, Cos and of course, H&M, it’s clear that Sweden is a hotbed of cutting-edge fashion. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on my side – I only had one dry day for taking photos! But it was easy to find some fantastic looks on the streets.

Keep posted for more Stockholm street style over the next few days…

Nicole is a stylist. She wears jacket, skirt and shirt by Acne, bag and shoes by Comme Des Garcons and a vintage beret.

Victor wears all vintage with trainers by Dinsko and Outlet gloves.

Take a moment to enjoy…

Dapper Gent

If only all men could pull off Andy’s slick style. His ‘gentleman in the city’ look is put together with classic, elegant pieces worn to perfection. While his twirly moustache, ankle-cropped trousers and tattoos give his look a quirky edge. Andy wears shirt by Our Legacy, tie by RRL, trousers by Uniforms For The Dedicated, belt by Anderson’s, bag by Ally Cappellino, shoes by Marc Jacobs and Casio watch. Andy works for Liberty and all items can be purchased from there.

In The Pink

Mynxii in New York

The world has been tickled pink with this playful hair colour popping up everywhere.  Here are some of my favourite examples of colourful fun.

Poupée mécanique

It makes me so happy to see Leo’s beautifully eccentric style. He is a vision from the past! Leo is passionate about dolls. He designs exquisite clothes for them and also restores and customizes them. Take a look at his fascinating website Poupée mécanique. Leo wears shirt and breeches from an antique market, waistcoat from a Parisian vintage shop and shoes bought on Ebay.
